Above is a detail shot of a new work series I am, for the moment, calling "Trains" meaning linear progressions to here or there... The short working title for this piece is: “Why Are Her Seeds Falling to Earth” (Mixed media collage acrylic and handmade papers, 59”h x 15”w (see complete length below)). Which has to do with all the unused or underused potential and talent in the African American community, and senseless loss of the seed because of black men who have been murdered unjustly by the police....
Will be showing more of this series as I work on it. In the meantime, I have some work up in New Jersey for the next three months at the Atrium Gallery. The Gallery is open M-F 9am - 6pm, and I believe Saturdays by appointment through Art In The Atrium Inc... The show features over 20 other African American established and emerging artists. Hope you get a chance to stop by.
